Dr Jeremy Watson Veterinarian BVSc (Hons) MANZCVS (SA surgery)

Jeremy grew up on a farm in NSW and moved to Melbourne to study Veterinary Science. After graduation in 1986, he worked in a number of small animal practices in Melbourne before establishing the Brimbank Veterinary Clinic in 1998. Jeremy and his partner Kim have three boys and a terrier cross called Scottie.

Jeremy has a special interest in surgery and in 2013 became a member (by examination) of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists. Achieving membership means he can offer a large range of surgical procedures and also support our surgical team to ensure the best up to date standards are maintained.

Jeremy is also an academic associate of the University of Melbourne as part of the training programme for undergraduate veterinary students. Trainee veterinary students spend time at our hospital as part of their course to become vets.

Dr Darrell Gust Veterinarian (BVSc)

Darrell joined Jeremy at Brimbank Vet in 2001 and became a Partner in the Clinic in 2003. Prior to this, Darrell had worked in large and small animal practices in Melbourne, Rural Victoria and the United Kingdom for 10 years. He enjoys the medical and surgical challenges associated with keeping family pets healthy and happy for as long as possible.

Darrell has three adult sons at home as well as Pablo the Maltese X Shih Tzu and Tata the cat. When not at the Clinic, he enjoys exercise and being outdoors.

Dr Lisa Di Vitto Veterinarian (BVSc)

Lisa graduated in 2011 from the University of Melbourne with a Bachelor of Veterinary Science degree. Lisa joined our team in 2012. Since then she has developed an interest in small animal medicine and diagnostic imaging, including using our brand-new ultrasound machine. She completed a Graduate Certificate in Small Animal Ultrasound from the University of Melbourne in 2018.

After her many years of dedication to the clinic she became a partner at Brimbank Veterinary Clinic in 2018. Since then she has completed a leadership course through the Women & Leadership Australia and hopes to empower young females in her field.

Dr. Grace Hutchison Veterinarian (DVM)

Grace graduated from the University of Melbourne in 2016 and joined the Brimbank team as a new graduate. After 3 years, Grace moved overseas to work as an emergency vet in London for 3.5 years before returning to Australia. Grace rejoined the Brimbank team in March 2024. Over the years, Grace has developed a special interest in small animal medicine and emergency.

Dr. Huirin Lee Veterinarian (DVM)

Huirin moved to Perth in 2016 to pursue her career as a veterinarian. She graduated from Murdoch University in 2021 with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine.  She was born in Korea and always had a passion and interest in animals growing up. Throughout her studies and career she particularly developed interest in small animals.

Dr Liliana De Giusti Veterinarian (DVM)

Liliana graduated from the University of Melbourne in 2023 with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. Since joining the team in 2024, she has been interested in further developing her skills in small animal surgery and ultrasound. Outside of work, Liliana enjoys playing soccer and spending time with her cheeky Corgi X, Bailey.

Dr Shalinie Navaratne Veterinarian (DVM)

Shalinie graduated from the University of Melbourne in 2024 and joined the Brimbank Vet team early 2025. She has since developed an interest in ophthalmology, surgery and behaviour.

Outside of work, Shalinie enjoys theatre, tennis and pottery. She also fosters cats and lives with her sassy Moodle, Camellia.

Merinda Quinn Practice Coordinator/Senior Veterinary Nurse

Merinda joined the Brimbank team in 2016 as a veterinary nurse. She has been nursing since 2010 in other general practice veterinary clinics. She became our Practice Coordinator in 2018 and has loved being able to grow her role within the clinic.

At home she is kept busy with two tabby cats, Leo and Little One and two boisterous Labrador X Border Collies named Ratchet & Bolt.

Maria Buenaventura Senior Veterinary Nurse (Cert IV)

Maria joined the Brimbank team in 2016 and is qualified with a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing. She has a special interest in feline nursing and holds a Certificate in Feline Nursing (ISFM). Maria is also one of our Cat Friendly Clinic Advocates and aims to improve patient stress and welfare while visiting our clinic.

At home, she has a Staffy X Kelpie named Bruce, and two naughty cats Milo and Claude.

Dora Kouremenos Senior Veterinary Nurse (Cert IV)

Dora has been nursing since 2012 after completing her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing. She has a love and interest in caring for all animals large or small, furry or feathered.

Dora keeps herself busy with her pups Amara, Winter, Bowser, Yoshi and Chanel. She also has three cats named Boo Boo, Amber and Simba who captured her heart as fosters, and a little lovebird called Kiwi. Dora also has an interest in mentoring junior nurses, and currently has a leadership role within our clinic.

Steph Lay Senior Veterinary Nurse (Cert IV)

Steph has been nursing since 2016 and is fully qualified with a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing. She has been with our clinic since May 2021 and has a special interest in surgical nursing, particularly with orthopaedic surgery.

Steph keeps herself busy with her two young human children, two cats Nala and Bacon, and her energetic Bernese Mountain Dog, Dexter.

Tori Calleja Senior Veterinary Nurse (Cert IV)

Tori joined the Brimbank Vet team in 2017 as a Trainee Veterinary Nurse. Since then, she has completed her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing and now holds a senior leadership and training role within the clinic. Passionate about mentoring, Tori enjoys teaching and supporting junior nurses as they grow in their careers. She has also pursued further qualifications in both Canine and Feline Behaviour & Handling, Emergency Nursing & CPR, Microchip Implantation, and Leadership.

At home, Tori is kept on her toes by her quirky bunch of pets – Kaizer the Staffy, Lemmy the Chihuahua, and Egg the Cat.

Jennie joined the Brimbank Vet team in 2020 and is qualified with a Bachelor of Veterinary Nursing. Over the years she has developed a special interest in feline nursing, became a Cat Friendly Clinic advocate within our clinic, and obtained a Certificate in Feline Nursing (ISFM).

In her spare time, Jennie enjoys creative and crafty activities such as pottery. Her household includes two energetic pups Cricket and Enoki, and two cheeky cats Crumpet and Momo.

Leanne Vallone Senior Veterinary Nurse (Diploma of Applied Science in Animal Technology)

Leanne has been a Veterinary Nurse for over 20 years and joined the Brimbank Vet team in 2023. Leanne has a keen interest in surgical nursing, and enjoys getting to know clients and their furry families.

At home Leanne and her husband have two daughters that keep them very busy – and a new furry edition, Chance. They enjoy listening to music, watching movies and going on day trips together.

Julian Bakhurst Veterinary Nurse

Julian started working at Brimbank Veterinary clinic in 2019. He started as a Junior Veterinary Nurse and has since graduated from Open College and completed his Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing in 2021. Julian loves taking care of your pets during their stay at our clinic and has an interest in diagnostic imaging. At home, he has a cat named Mason and is hoping to adopt more cats in the future.

Quyen Vo Veterinary Nurse (BVN)

Quyen joined the Brimbank Vet team in November 2022, and is qualified with a Bachelor of Veterinary Nursing. Quyen enjoys all aspects of nursing, and has a passion for client education and collaboration to improve the health of their pets.

She has a beautiful Golden Retriever named Maru at home, and loves giving all the Golden Retrievers an extra cuddle when they come in. In her spare time, Quyen enjoys bringing Maru to visit his cousins, Princess & Junior, and baking doggy treats for them.

Arlene Miller Veterinary Nurse (Cert IV)

Arlene began working at the clinic in March 2022 while studying for her Certificate IV in Vet Nursing, which she had since graduated from in 2023. She enjoys learning new things each day and has a special interest in small animal dentistry.

When not at the clinic, Arlene is pursuing further Tertiary education and loves spending time with her two Labradors, Link and River.

Adriana joined the Brimbank Vet team in February 2023 as a trainee whilst completing her Certificate IV Veterinary Nursing course at Kangan Institute. Over the years, she is developing an interest in surgical nursing, animal behaviour and radiology, and is looking forward to expanding her knowledge and skill set at Brimbank Vet Clinic.

When Adriana is not at work, she enjoys going to the gym, playing golf and spending time with her energetic Jack Russell Terrier, Mickey.

Skyla joined our team in 2024 and is currently working towards a Cert IV in Veterinary Nursing. She enjoys all aspects of nursing and has a special interest in wildlife, exotic pet care and education.

She shares her home with a Chihuahua named Miffy, two rescue cats named Socks and Wilbur, a blue tongue skink named Lenny and a Stimsons python called Neytiri.

Tamsyn Johnson  Junior Veterinary Nurse

Tamsyn joined the Brimbank team at the end of 2024 as a Trainee Veterinary Nurse, and is currently studying to obtain a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing. She has always had a strong passion for animals of all kinds, and prior to entering the Veterinary space, Tamsyn has worked in the equine industry.

Her fur babies include the laziest kelpie named Nellie and a cheeky koolie cross called Tessa, as well as two horses – all of which were once rescue animals, which is another passion of hers.

Vivan joined the Brimbank Vet team in December 2024 after graduating with a Bachelor of Veterinary Nursing. Vivian has an interest in small animal behaviour and nutrition, and is looking forward to developing her knowledge further.

At home, she enjoys spending time with her two dogs – a Maltese X Shih Tzu called Koko, and a Cavoodle called Daisy.

Joanne Healey Reception Manager

Joanne is our Reception Manager and has been a part of our team since 2014. Joanne has extensive experience as a Receptionist and as a Personal Assistant prior to joining the Veterinary industry. At work she enjoys mentoring, especially junior staff.

When she’s not in the clinic answering the phones or greeting our clients, she’s busy with her two kids and enjoys winding down with a good book and tending to her plants. Come in and see her friendly face at the front of our clinic as she’s always happy to help.

Mel Signorino Receptionist

Mel started working at Brimbank Vet in 2017 as our afternoon receptionist. She came from a management background in retail, but also has experience as a medical receptionist. Mel enjoys client interactions and being a friendly face out in reception.

Mel is a proud mum to three cats Aslan, Cleopatra and Aurora, and a bunny named Benjamin. When not at work, Mel enjoys spending time with her family and friends.
